I’m pretty bad at taking care of this on time. I don’t know where the paperwork is so I’ll just head downtown and take my beating. I’ve had the check for personal property taxes laying around for at least a month, and I probably need some sort of safety inspection; getting the horn working and newish tires will probably help with that. One the bright side, at last check we could renew for two years so I won’t have to worry about it for some time. And I won’t have to worry about visiting Brentwood, where I got popped for expired tags last time, and can go to Micro Center and Chick-Fil-A without fear.

I just got the renewal notice.... for a car I sold six months ago.
I submitted all of the paperwork correctly, so they told me to disregard the notice. Last time I did everything properly (in Florida) including surrendering my plates in person, they still messed up the paperwork and suspended my license. They wanted me to pay a $250 fee to have my license reinstated, because of their mistake.
Only took me two hours of arguing to get out of that one.

I’m still getting renewal notices from California for a car I sold at least 7 years ago, and I’m 1,800 miles away. It was on PNO status when I sold it, and they should have gotten the hint by now, although I guess there isn’t any information traveling between two adjacent states...
